The Newcastle and Hunter Jazz Club aims to foster live Jazz music in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley area. The club holds regular jazz band nights  usually on the first Saturday of each month. A newsletter is distributed to members monthly. Other social activities are held throughout the year - for details of these activities scroll down.
The main activity for the year, The Newcastle Jazz Festival, is held on the last weekend in August. It is regarded as one of the best Jazz Festivals in Australia.  The 22nd  Newcastle Jazz Festival will run from 28th to 30th August, 2009.
The Newcastle and Hunter Jazz Club Inc is a non-profit organization, run solely by volunteers. All club members are eligible to serve on the committee which is elected each year.
